snow pile

Plowed roadside accumulation

A snow pile is an accumulation of snow that has been pushed, shoveled, or plowed into a mound.

Snow piles form at the edges of cleared driveways, parking lots, and roads after snowplows pass: The kids climbed the giant snow pile in the parking lot.

They persist long after surrounding snow melts, often becoming dirty and compacted with ice.
