snow guns
Artificial winter creators
Snow guns are machines that produce artificial snow by spraying water into cold air, where it freezes into ice crystals.
Ski resorts use them to supplement natural snowfall or extend the season: They fired up the snow guns when temperatures dropped below freezing.
Also called snow cannons or snowmakers.
