slabbering

Letting saliva escape

Slabbering is drooling or slobbering—letting saliva dribble from the mouth.

It applies to infants, animals, or anyone eating messily: The dog came slabbering toward me.

By extension, it describes excessive, sycophantic praise: slabbering flattery.

The word is somewhat old-fashioned, more common in British English than American.
