shoe horn
Slip-on assistant
A shoe horn is a curved implement—traditionally of horn, now usually plastic or metal—slipped behind the heel to ease the foot into a shoe without crushing the back.
As a verb, to shoehorn something is to squeeze it into a tight space or force it into an unsuitable context: They shoehorned a romance subplot into the action movie.
