self-refuting

Disproves its own claim

Self-refuting describes a statement or argument that contradicts itself by its own logic.

A claim is self-refuting when accepting it would undermine its own validity: The statement "there is no truth" is self-refuting because it claims to be true.

The concept appears frequently in philosophy when examining paradoxes and logical consistency.
