self-actualized

Reached peak potential

Self-actualized describes someone who has fulfilled their potential and become the fullest version of themselves.

The term comes from psychology, where self-actualization sits at the top of Maslow's hierarchy of needs—achieved only after basic needs like safety and belonging are met.

A self-actualized person supposedly lives authentically, pursues meaningful goals, and accepts themselves fully: She seemed completely self-actualized, unconcerned with others' approval.

The concept is more aspirational than clinical—few claim to have arrived there.
