second dose
Vaccination part two
A second dose is the second administration of a medication or vaccine, typically given after an initial dose to complete a treatment course or boost effectiveness.
The term became widely familiar during COVID-19 vaccination campaigns: I'm scheduled for my second dose next week.
In other contexts, it may simply mean another serving: a second dose of bad news.
