Satoshis are the smallest unit of bitcoin, named after the cryptocurrency's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
One bitcoin equals 100 million satoshis.
The unit makes small transactions practical: I tipped the artist 5,000 satoshis.
Often shortened to sats in casual usage: stacking sats.
