sanctions list
Banned parties register
A sanctions list is an official registry of individuals, companies, or countries subject to economic or legal restrictions.
Governments and international bodies maintain these lists to identify parties with whom transactions are prohibited or limited: Before processing the wire transfer, the bank checked the client against the sanctions list.
Being on such a list can freeze assets, block travel, or bar business dealings.
