runtimes
How long programs take
Runtimes is the plural of runtime, which has two main senses in computing.
First, runtime is the period when a program is actually executing, as opposed to when it's being written or compiled: The error only appears at runtime.
Second, a runtime is the software environment that executes code—the machinery that makes a program run: Node.js is a JavaScript runtime.
Different runtimes for the same language may offer different performance or capabilities.
