ringworms
Circular skin fungus
Ringworms is the plural of ringworm, a fungal skin infection that forms ring-shaped rashes despite having nothing to do with worms.
The misleading name comes from the circular, worm-like appearance of the affected skin.
Different types affect the scalp, feet (athlete's foot), groin (jock itch), and body: The wrestler picked up ringworms from the mat.
