ridge lines
Peaks' connecting edges
Ridge lines are the crests where two slopes meet, forming the highest continuous edge of a mountain range or hill.
In topography, they mark where water divides, flowing down opposite sides.
Military and firefighting contexts use the term for high ground that offers tactical advantage or where wildfires spread rapidly.
The trail follows the ridge line for three miles.
