reviewing stand
Official observation deck
A reviewing stand is a raised platform where officials, dignitaries, or judges watch a parade, military procession, or similar event pass before them.
The elevation allows clear sightlines and signals authority: The president watched the troops march past from the reviewing stand.
The term emphasizes the act of formal inspection rather than mere spectating.
