reroll

Cast the cubes

To reroll is to roll dice again, typically after an unsatisfactory result.

In tabletop and video games, a reroll lets you discard an outcome and try for a better one: I used my luck token to reroll the attack.

Extended to any situation where you abandon one random result for another: I'm going to reroll my character means generating a new one from scratch.
