refund abuse
Exploiting return policies
Refund abuse is the practice of exploiting return policies to get money back while keeping merchandise, or repeatedly returning items in ways that violate the spirit of consumer protections.
Tactics include claiming items never arrived, returning stolen goods, or wearing clothes then returning them.
Retailers track refund abuse and may ban repeat offenders: The account was flagged for refund abuse after the fifth missing-package claim.
