rave-ups

High-energy dance events

Rave-ups are lively, energetic musical performances or parties, especially in British English.

The term emerged from 1960s rock music to describe songs that build to a frenzied, driving climax: The Yardbirds were known for their extended rave-ups.

More broadly, a rave-up is any wild, uninhibited celebration or good time.
