Yardbirds

The Yardbirds were a British rock band formed in 1963, influential in developing blues rock and psychedelic rock.

The group served as a launching pad for three legendary guitarists—Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page—each of whom went on to reshape rock music.

Their innovative use of feedback, distortion, and experimental techniques influenced countless bands that followed.

Beyond the band, yardbird is slang for a prison inmate or, earlier, a military recruit confined to base duties.
