rat catcher
Pest control worker
A rat catcher is someone whose job is to exterminate rats and other vermin from buildings, ships, or agricultural areas.
The occupation was once common enough to warrant its own guild in some European cities.
As an adjective, rat-catcher describes clothing suited for informal country pursuits rather than formal occasions: a rat-catcher tweed jacket.
