railway depots
Locomotive storage facilities
Railway depots are facilities where trains are stored, maintained, and serviced when not in active use.
The term covers everything from small storage yards to large maintenance complexes with repair shops and fueling stations.
In American usage, depot also means a passenger station: We waited at the depot for the 3:15 train.
