radio tracking
Wireless location monitoring
Radio tracking is monitoring the location and movement of animals, vehicles, or objects using radio signals transmitted from attached devices.
Wildlife researchers use it extensively to study migration patterns and territorial behavior: The biologists radio tracked the wolves across three states.
The technique relies on receivers that pick up signals from transmitters, allowing real-time or recorded position data.
