Crushing an opponent
Pwning is thoroughly defeating or dominating someone, especially in video games or online contexts.
The term originated as a typo of "owning" (the O and P keys are adjacent) and became internet slang in its own right.
To pwn someone is to humiliate them with superior skill: I just pwned that noob.
The word extends beyond gaming to any decisive victory or successful hack: The hacker pwned the entire database.
