push fit
No-thread pipe joint
Push fit describes a connection method where components join by simply pushing them together, without tools, glue, or threading.
The parts are designed so one slides snugly into the other and friction or a mechanical catch holds them in place: push-fit plumbing fittings, push-fit electrical connectors.
The term appears most often in plumbing and construction contexts.
Also called push-to-connect or push-to-fit.
