protective charms
Objects deflecting harm
Protective charms are objects believed to ward off evil, danger, or misfortune—amulets, talismans, or tokens carried or worn for supernatural defense.
The term also applies to spoken formulas or rituals meant to shield someone from harm: She whispered protective charms over her sleeping child.
In fantasy fiction and games, protective charms are standard magical equipment.
