proletarianized
Stripped of ownership
Proletarianized describes something that has been reduced to working-class status or conditions.
The term comes from Marxist analysis, where the proletariat are wage laborers who don't own the means of production.
A proletarianized workforce has lost autonomy or ownership: Teachers have become proletarianized, stripped of professional control over their work.
The process often implies degradation—skilled craftsmen proletarianized into factory hands, professionals turned into interchangeable employees.
