pop top
Built-in beverage access
Pop top refers to the pull-tab opening mechanism on beverage cans, or a can equipped with such a tab: Grab me a pop top from the cooler.
The original design produced a detachable ring and tab—notorious for littering beaches and cutting bare feet—largely replaced by stay-on tabs.
Pop-top also describes containers with lids that snap or pop open: a pop-top trash can.
