playoff MVP

Postseason's top performer

Playoff MVP is the player judged most valuable during a postseason tournament, as distinct from the regular-season MVP award.

The honor typically goes to a star on the championship-winning team: He averaged thirty points a game en route to playoff MVP.

In basketball, the NBA Finals MVP is the most prestigious version of this award.
