platinum jubilee
Monarch's seventieth anniversary
A platinum jubilee marks seventy years of a monarch's reign or, by extension, any seventy-year anniversary.
The term gained wide currency with Queen Elizabeth II's 2022 celebration, the first British monarch to reach that milestone: The platinum jubilee weekend featured concerts and street parties across the UK.
