plant swaps
Garden community trades
Plant swaps are community events where gardeners exchange plants, cuttings, seeds, or bulbs with one another.
Participants bring what they have in excess—divided perennials, seedlings, houseplant propagations—and take home something new.
The events range from informal neighborhood gatherings to organized swaps at garden clubs or farmers markets: I got this hosta at a plant swap last spring.
