pepper pot

Tabletop seasoning dispenser

A pepper pot is a container with small holes in the top for sprinkling ground pepper, called a pepper shaker in American English.

In Caribbean and American regional cooking, pepper pot also names a heavily spiced stew, typically made with meat, vegetables, and cassava juice or other thickening agents.

The Philadelphia pepper pot is a tripe-based soup with peppercorns that became a regional specialty.
