Straight entry dive
A pencil dive is a jump into water with the body held straight and rigid—arms at the sides or pressed overhead, legs together—entering the water vertically like a pencil.
It's the simplest dive, requiring no skill beyond keeping straight: The kids took turns doing pencil dives off the dock.
