palm crosses
Woven frond symbols
Palm crosses are small crosses woven from palm fronds, distributed to Christians on Palm Sunday.
They commemorate Jesus's entry into Jerusalem, when crowds laid palm branches before him.
Worshippers typically keep them through the year, then return them to be burned for the following year's Ash Wednesday ashes.
