overlimit
Beyond the cap
Overlimit describes exceeding a set boundary, typically a credit limit: overlimit fees, an overlimit charge.
When you spend beyond your credit card's maximum, the account goes overlimit.
The term appears mainly in financial contexts, often as an adjective modifying penalties or as a state: The account is overlimit by two hundred dollars.
