overexpose

Let in excess light

To overexpose is to expose too much.

In photography, overexposing film or a sensor to light produces washed-out, overly bright images.

More broadly, overexposure means too much public visibility: The band was overexposed after their hit single, and audiences grew tired of them.

A child overexposed to violence may be harmed by it.
