overcount
Enumerate beyond actual
To overcount is to count more than actually exists—the opposite of undercount.
The error can be accidental or deliberate: Census officials worried they had overcounted some urban areas.
As a noun, an overcount is an instance of such excess: The audit revealed an overcount of three thousand ballots.
