osmoses
Diffuses through membranes
Osmoses is the plural of osmosis, the process by which molecules pass through a membrane from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated one.
The word appears rarely in its plural form, usually in scientific contexts comparing different instances or types of osmotic processes.
Figuratively, osmosis describes gradual, almost unconscious absorption: learning by osmosis.
