on the internet
Through the web
On the internet describes something that exists or occurs within the global network of interconnected computers and digital services.
The phrase locates activity in online spaces rather than physical ones: I found the recipe on the internet, She met her husband on the internet.
It often appears in contexts contrasting digital and real-world experiences, or when someone wants to emphasize the online nature of an interaction.
The phrasing has become somewhat dated as younger speakers tend toward simply "online."
