nuclear-free zone
Weapons-banned region
A nuclear-free zone is an area where nuclear weapons and sometimes nuclear power are prohibited by law or agreement.
Countries or regions declare themselves nuclear-free zones to prevent the stationing, testing, or transit of nuclear weapons: New Zealand became a nuclear-free zone in 1987.
The term also applies to smaller designated areas like cities or campuses.
