noughties

First decade, 2000s

The noughties are the decade from 2000 to 2009—the years beginning with "nought" (zero).

The term follows the pattern of twenties, thirties, and so on, filling a gap English lacked until the millennium arrived: I loved the music of the noughties.

More common in British than American English.
