Nonsporting describes dogs that don't fit neatly into other breed categories like hunting, herding, or working groups.
The American Kennel Club uses nonsporting as a catch-all classification for diverse breeds—from poodles to bulldogs to dalmatians—that were originally bred for various purposes no longer central to their role as companions.
The nonsporting group includes some of the most popular pet breeds.
