nonrebreathing
No recycled air
Nonrebreathing describes medical equipment designed so that exhaled air is expelled rather than inhaled again.
A nonrebreathing mask delivers high concentrations of oxygen to patients by using one-way valves that allow oxygen in while venting exhaled breath out, preventing the mixing of fresh oxygen with carbon dioxide-laden air.
The paramedic placed a nonrebreathing mask on the patient to maximize oxygen delivery.
