noninfectious
Cannot be transmitted
Noninfectious describes a disease or condition that cannot be transmitted from one person to another.
Heart disease, diabetes, and cancer are noninfectious—you can't catch them from someone who has them.
The term distinguishes these conditions from infectious diseases caused by transmissible pathogens: a noninfectious rash, noninfectious arthritis.
