non-cardiac
Outside the heart
Non-cardiac means not related to or involving the heart.
The term appears most often in medical contexts to distinguish conditions or symptoms from heart-related causes: non-cardiac chest pain, non-cardiac surgery.
A doctor might order tests to rule out cardiac causes before concluding a problem is non-cardiac in origin.
