night stalker
After-dark predator
A night stalker is someone who prowls after dark with predatory intent—typically a criminal who commits burglaries, assaults, or murders under cover of darkness.
The term gained notoriety from the serial killer Richard Ramirez, dubbed "the Night Stalker" by media in 1985.
More loosely, it describes anyone who roams at night: Security cameras caught the night stalker circling the property.
