night hunting
Stalking after dark
Night hunting is hunting game after dark, often using artificial lights to spot or stun animals.
In most jurisdictions, night hunting is illegal or heavily restricted because it gives hunters an unfair advantage—deer and other animals freeze when caught in bright light, making them easy targets.
Some exceptions exist for predator control or specific species: Night hunting for coyotes is permitted with a license.
