nats
Natural logarithm bits
Nats is the plural of nat, a unit of information used in information theory, equivalent to about 1.44 bits.
Unlike bits, which use base-2 logarithms, nats use natural logarithms.
The term comes from "natural unit of information." In computing and machine learning contexts, nats appear in calculations involving entropy and cross-entropy loss functions.
The model's loss was measured in nats rather than bits.
