native dialect
Regional speech variety
A native dialect is the particular variety of a language someone acquires naturally in childhood—the speech patterns, vocabulary, and pronunciation absorbed from family and community before formal education.
It contrasts with standard or prestige forms learned later: Her native dialect was Appalachian English, though she code-switched at work.
