nanorobots
Tiny programmable devices
Nanorobots are microscopic machines designed to operate at the nanometer scale—billionths of a meter.
The term appears most often in speculative discussions of medicine, where nanorobots might navigate the bloodstream to deliver drugs, destroy cancer cells, or repair tissue: Researchers are developing nanorobots that could target tumors directly.
The technology remains largely theoretical, though early prototypes exist in labs.
