multimedia messaging
Texts with attachments
Multimedia messaging is the sending of messages that include images, video, audio, or other media files, as distinguished from plain text messaging.
The term most often refers to MMS (multimedia messaging service), the standard that extended SMS texting to handle photos and short videos: She sent a multimedia message with pictures from the party.
The distinction has faded as modern messaging apps handle all formats seamlessly.
