movable do
Transposable solfège system
Movable do is a system of musical sight-reading where the syllable "do" always represents the first note of whatever key you're in.
In C major, do is C; in G major, do is G.
This contrasts with fixed do, where do always means C regardless of key.
The movable system emphasizes relationships between notes rather than absolute pitch, making it easier to transpose melodies and recognize patterns across different keys.
