mook

Expendable hired muscle

A mook is a stupid, insignificant, or contemptible person—someone dismissed as a fool or a nobody.

The term carries a working-class urban flavor, associated especially with New York Italian-American speech: Some mook cut me off in traffic.

In action movies and video games, mooks are the disposable henchmen who exist to be defeated by the hero.
